New Parent Challenge

Welcome to the New Parent Challenge

Welcome, and congratulations! Joining the New Parent Challenge proves that you are ready to take the important steps towards becoming smarter so that you can be a great parent. Over the next week, we’re going to share some of the practical parenting guidance and some of the best insights from childhood development experts and researchers.

Each morning, you’ll get a link to that day’s challenge briefing in your email (or text). Parents today are busier than ever, and Parents Club’s mission is to make it easy for you to learn how to be a great parent with bite-sized content that we call briefs. They’re just 10-minutes long and you can read or listen from your phone or computer.

Let’s jump in!

First, check that you received an email & text from us on your phone. If you don’t see this, make sure to check your spam folder & whitelist our email address (hello@parents.club) by moving it to the primary folder. That way, you’ll get all of the free content from this challenge.

Then, reply to the email and tell me about your biggest challenge or fears with parenting. You can write a few words or a novel. It can be anything from changing diapers to the anxiety of taking care of another life… if you have specific questions that you’d like help with during the challenge, feel free to include those!

One of the most common fears with being a new parent is sleep. When my daughter Lily was born, one of the first questions everyone asked was, “Oh my gosh! Congratulations… but how are you sleeping?” Luckily, I was able to meet Dr. Harvey Karp, who is widely known as America’s most-trusted pediatricians. His bestselling book, Happiest Baby on the Block, was the key to my wife and I being able to still get good sleep even after we had a baby.

A newborn that sleeps means mom and dad are also getting sleep! That’s why this book is the first Brief in our New Parent Challenge.

Now, click the play button below to hear the key takeaways, including the 5 S’s to soothe a crying baby.

You’ve now completed Day 1 of the New Parent Challenge! Woohoo!

What’s on your mind after listening to today’s briefing? Leave a comment below on the discussion board.

That’s all for today. Looking forward to reading all your comments. I’ll see you back here tomorrow for Day 2 of the challenge!

p.s. Good parenting happens over the course of thousands of small decisions that you make as a parent. Eeek. I know that sounds like a lot, but it doesn’t have to be complicated.

Tomorrow, we’ll be discussing a framework for how to make solid parenting decisions. Check your email or texts tomorrow for a link to the Day 2 briefing.
